I was searching for a hag stone with someone I deeply admired. When I found one, I handed it to her without a second thought. I believed she understood its magic in a way I didn't yet.
She accepted it, and we moved on.
It wasn't until much later that I realized that moment had become a metaphor for the way I'd been living.
Again and again, I'd handed my intuition, my voice, and my power to people I believed were wiser, more experienced, or somehow more legitimate than I was, despite the years I'd spent cultivating my own practice and lived experience. I mistook confidence for competence and trusted other people's certainty more than my own inner knowing. I couldn't see my own authority, so I became dependent on people who appeared to possess it. They pointed me toward parts of myself I hadn't yet claimed, but I mistakenly believed they were the ones who had placed them there.
Looking back, I wasn't really handing away the stone. I was handing away my trust in my own magic.
That realization changed everything.
I began questioning the stories I'd inherited about success, productivity, worth, and what it meant to live a meaningful life. I began remembering the parts of myself I'd spent years looking for in other people. I chose self-compassion over self-criticism, consistency over perfection, and my own growing confidence over the endless search for external validation.
Alchemy Untapped was born from that journey—not to become another voice speaking over yours, but to help you trust your own.
